Originally featured on The Pogues\u2019 acclaimed 1985 album <em>Rum, Sodomy &amp; The Lash<\/em>, \u201cThe Body of an American\u201d remains one of the group\u2019s most enduring tracks and a staple of Irish folk-punk music.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shanemacgowan.ochre.store\/\">The album<\/a>, scheduled for release in November, celebrates the legacy of the late Pogues frontman and songwriter (who died in 2023) through performances by a range of artists influenced by his work.
